Home Visits for the Elderly

Are you an elderly individual who cherishes the activities and pastimes that have brought joy throughout your life?

Whether it's the camaraderie of social engagements or the thrill of competitive pursuits, the onset of pain and injury can significantly impact the enjoyment of life.

We recognise the unique challenges faced by seniors and understand the importance of maintaining an active and fulfilling lifestyle. That's why we offer a specialised service of physiotherapy home visits for the elderly. With a commitment to early and accurate assessments and the development of comprehensive treatment plans, our dedicated team will come to you at your house, retirement village or nursing home, to provide all your treatment needs in the comfort of your own space.

Our experienced physiotherapists are adept at assessing and addressing injuries related to various activities, supporting the elderly in their journey to regain mobility and well-being, and ensuring a return to cherished pastimes without the risk of recurrence. Home visits are by phone appointment only. Call 02 9816 5092 to book.

Mobility and Independence

We work to help improve and maintain the mobility of our elderly patients. This may involve exercises to enhance strength, balance, and coordination, as well as interventions to address issues like gait abnormalities or difficulty in transferring from one place to another.

Fall Prevention and Home Assessments

We can provide assessments of the risk factors for falls and implement strategies to minimise them. This may include balance training, home environment modifications, and education on safe movement.

Pain Management

Using various techniques, including therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, and modalities like heat or cold therapy, we can help our elderly patients to manage chronic pain and improve overall comfort.

Prehab before Surgery & Rehabilitation after Surgery

• Provided before surgery (usually knee or hip surgery), we work with patients to lay a strong foundation upon which faster and better outcomes are achieved post-surgery. Our Prehab sessions generally focus on strength, mobility, gait retraining and balance.
• We work with our elderly patients to assist with recovery from surgeries, fractures, or other injuries, through the design of a rehabilitation program that helps you restore functionality, reduce pain, and promote a smooth recovery process.

Chronic Disease Management

As part of a broader healthcare team approach, we collaborate with a patient’s healthcare team to manage chronic conditions such as arthritis, osteoporosis, and diabetes, designing exercise programs tailored to needs and the condition.

Cognitive Impairment

In cases of cognitive decline or dementia, we work closely with a patients healthcare team to help define patient exercise plans to maintain physical function and support activities of daily living.
